There will be a Rugby match in the Manuel Becerra grounds in Rincón de la Victoria on the 1st of October between a Spanish and British team.
The Club Rugby Málaga CRM 1994 and the Sheffield Tigers Rugby Football Club will face each other, making this the third international match so far this year in Rincón de la Victoria. Club Rugby Málaga played against an Austrian team in January and a French one in May.
The Councillor for Sports, Antonio José Martín (PP) explained that they often received requests from abroad for rugby teams to use their facilities, as well as from other Spanish teams.
Sheffield Tigers play in RFU National 2 North which is National League level 4. The Club Rugby Málaga plays in the División de Honor B, which is the second level of Spanish league competition for rugby union clubs.
The Mayor considers that the Manuel Becerra sports complex, “is unique within the province and within the whole of Andalucía because of the quality of the installations and their location; i.e., close to an international airport and excellent weather.
Entrance is free and the match kicks off at 13.00h.
