A young lad was injured after jumping feet first off the middle rock of the Peñones del Santo in Almuñécar yesterday.

The incident was reported to the emergency, call centre around 18.15h in the evening by several witnesses to say that the youth had fallen awkwardly, hurting his leg and required medical assistance.

An ambulance was sent to the scene as well as a Guardia Civil patrol and Cruz Roja (The Spanish  Red Cross).

The victim had a fractured leg and once the injury was immobilised he was taken to Hospital Santa Ana in Motril.
