Don't forget that on Monday and Tuesday next week the streets running alongside the ex-municipal market in Almuñécar will be closed to traffic.
This is because they are going to be retarmacked after all the undergound infrastructure running beneath them has been renewed.
Don’t panic, though, as there will be road signs up indicating diversions to follow giving you alternative routes to take.
The affected streets and the ones used as alternative are: Avenida de Cala, Callejón del Virgo, Calle Sánchez Chaves, Calle San Juan and Avenida de Europa.
The work being carried out on Monday the 20th will be the tarmacking on Avenida de Cala, Callejón del
Virgo and Calle Sánchez Chaves, and then on Tuesday the 21st it will be the turn of Calle Sánchez Chaves (again), Calle San Juan and (parts of) Avenida de Europa.
The Head of the roadworks asks residents and visitors for their patience and would prefer that nobody sulks at the bottom of the pit where the market was.
Editorial comment: We’re just wondering why they are giving the streets a nice new surface, if when the municipal market building work commences, it is all going to get ripped up by heavy machinery?
