Whilst down on La Mamola beach it's covered in Asian seaweed, it turns out that six greenhouse in La Mamola are covered in Moroccan weed... cannabis!

The Guardia Civil on a green-meanie mission (Orza22) uncovered a cannabis sativa plantation distributed between six different greenhouses within the municipality of Polopos, to which La Mamola belongs.

A total of 4,890 mature plants were found, leading to the arrest of the owner of the greenhouses. The owner is a 44-year-old Romanian citizen who has no previous convictions.

The Guardia Civil based in Motril and those based in La Mamola had come across indications that something fishy was happening in the El Cerro area of the municipality. They moved into the area on the 24th and found the nearly 5,000 wonky weeds frolicking in the greenhouses.
