We normally publish these figures each Tuesday around four in the afternoon but we considered that the loss of the Spanish trawler should get priority.
At first glance you will notice that there is no town anywhere near having a contagion rate of 1,000 per 100,000. In fact the highest is Juviles with 735.3 and they got that for having just one case amongst their bulging population of 136 souls.
Another point is that there are now twelve municipalities that have not had one case in the last fortnight.
As for the main coastal towns, Almuñécar and Salobreña are in the 300s whereas Motril has a contagion rate of 637.1, all of which is a far cry from the height of the sixth Wave.
Whereas the contagion rate is dropping fast, the amount of deaths in the ICUs is growing, which is logical as those worse cases that were hospitalised in the ICU weeks ago have now reached the end of their resistance – the sad mathematics of viral contagion.
