Following a motion in a Plenary Meeting of the Almuñécar Town Council, it was unanimously agreed that pensioners could travel free on municipal buses.
This free, bus pass (Tarjeta M65) is for anybody who receives a pension, such as a disability one, so it is not just for people who have reached 65 years of age.
Of course, this covers pensioners who are resident in Almuñcar and La Herradura: i.e., they have registered on the Lista de Empadronados, clarified the Councillor for Hacienda, Rafael Caballero Jiménez.
This system will not be up and running immediately, as following its approval in the Plenary it has to pass a period of public scrutiny so that those who wish to, can object to it. After that, the process of receiving requests from those who wish to hold a Tarject M65 can begin.
This initiative had been announced during the municipal, bus-service-lease bidding, which has gone to the local company, Roalfa, (part of Grupo Fajardo).
Editorial comment: after my coming birthday I am going to travel around Almuñécar on the municipal bus until my eyes bleed – might even take a sleeping bag with me…

Paul: No idea. The information that we publish comes from press releases and that info was not included. They’re not available yet but when they are there will be another press release with an image of one and how to obtain them. Patience… Ommmm….
what does a m65 look like please…. and where dou get one?
Linda: the press release just says that you have to be empadronado – it doesn’t stipulated that you have to have a residencia. So, if your name in on the list and you are 65 or over, you should have no problem getting one.
Will this be available to all EU NON RESIDENT pensioners who carry a free bus pass in their own countries
If you are a non resident but have a padrons no will you be able to use this pass.
