On the 25th of this month the Guardia Civil post in Salobreña were called out to Vélez de Benaudalla - there was a man armed with a knife threatening to kill two other people.

When they arrived, they found the 23-year-old man outside a house threatening his victim with a knife of large proportions, so they told him to throw it down, which he did and then he was immediately arrested.

He told the officers that his intention only was to scare the victim, who reportedly owed him money for the purchase of a mobile phone as well as another debt for five euros.

Editorial comment: best not to owe anybody money in Vélez de Benaudalla, it seems.
