On Christmas day within the city of Granada a passenger on an Alsa bus decided to take off his mask and light up a cigarette. Trouble was on its way.
The driver asked the man to put the cigarette out and to put his mask back on, but he took no notice of him.
The driver then stopped the bus and asked everybody to get off, many of whom had berated the smoker about his behaviour on public transport where smoking has long been banned.
Whilst they were debussing, the driver phoned the Policía Local.
The officers turned up and told the passenger to put the cigarette out and put his mask back on, but he again took no notice. Peace on Earth for All Mankind was not going well this particular Christmas in Granada, at least.
The officers then set about arresting him but he wasn’t keen on that either and resisted arrest. In fact, he even managed to spit at one of the officers in the face whilst they attempted to put the cuffs on him.
Editorial comment: Perhaps it suddenly struck him that he “can’t do this” and “must do that” and thought, “sod it!” Condone his attitude no, but understand it a little, yes.

Wishing you the same, Patrick, and thanks for using the Gazette as a local information source 😉
Very true. Every grain goes towards a sand castle. Every kindness counts.
I wish you a safe New Year.
Patrick: In the immortal words of the irascible Scot, Private James Frazer in Dad’s Army, “We’re all Doomed!” Seriously, though, we can only be responsible for ourselves but each grain of sand makes a difference.
I have seen that film. Very sad and a reflection of this modern life in many ways. I don’t think we will ever go back to being ,just nice to others. Your thoughts.?
Patrick: To understand what I meant, look up “Falling Down” starring Michael Douglas 😉
The editorial comment must be tongue in cheek. !!?? Understand it a little. ??? The men is a twit. Compounded by the fact that he spat in a policeman’s face. A severe thrashing should be in order. But of course we don’t do that nowadays. The masks are a pain. But smoking is a no no on public transport. To give two fingers shows the mental attitude of a child in a adults body
