Last October we interviewed the Mayor of Salobreña and pointed out two problems, which didn't get a convincing response... until now.
A year to the month of the Interview the trading estate received a new layer of tarmac and white lines and the entrance to Urbanización Monte de Los Almendos got the same and is in the process of even getting street lighting.
We had asked about both of these points and got a, “we don’t understand the question,” regarding the trading estate and “it’s included with a programme of retarmacking streets within town.”
What had prompted our questions, which we had to send because owing to the pandemic the Mayor didn’t want to meet in person, was the then chaos on the main junction of the trading estate, next to the entrance rounabout for the town – nobody knew where the lanes led nor where you were supposed to stop to give way as the lines had long disappeared. Now we have a roundabout, which you can’t miss so there is no confusion.
As for the Monte, the section of entrance lane is not part of the urbanización so it is the responsibility of the Town Hall to maintain.
