The Almuñécar Policía Local arrested a man yesterday afternoon, suspected of having carried out a knife attack and handed him over to the Guardia Civil.

According to eyewitnesses, the attack took place around 19.30h when two middle-aged men were having a heated argument in the street. In a given moment one of the two local men pulled a knife and used it on the other.

The municipal police were immediately alerted and two patrol cars were despatched to the scene of the incident and the alleged aggressor was immediately taken into custody.

The victim was seriously injured having susainted several knife wounds and was rushed to the Centro de Salud.

The identify of neither man is known, nor was name of the street where the attack took place, given. However have since heard that it was on Plaza de Damascus.
