A clash between two families in Motril ended in four arrests and three police officers injured, according to the Policía Nacional.
Saturday night turned out to be a punch-&-a-pint night in a housing area near the Rambla de Capuchinos, which is an area where rightful ownership is a hazy conception.
Nobody knows exactly how it started as neither family is willing to spill the beans to the police.
At first, the Policía Local were sent in to break it up which is as much use as sending in the St John’s Ambulance Brigade to keep an SS Panzer Division off your lawn, some consider.
Actually, it subsided a bit (half time) and then got lively again around eleven that same evening. This time the Policía Nacional were sent in to whistle up some respect. When they arrived, some combatants took to their heels but most continued the brawl involving over a dozen participants
Separating the fueding families cost the police slight injuries to three officers; just scratches and bruises. Amongst the four arrested persons there are both women and men, all of whom are remanded in custody until they are brought before a magistrate this morning.
