Tweaks to Restriction Measures

Christmas DecorationsSince the Junta announced the slackening off of the Covid restrictions on Thursday, the Official Gazette has since been published with small modifications.

Bars and restaurants will be able to close later than previously announced on Christmas and New Year’s Eve; now they can stay open until one in the morning those two nights. In other words, until half an hour before the curfew comes into effect.

Another change was a modification to the term allegados (friends of the family). The change, says the Junta, is because the Ministry of Public Health belonging to the Central Government has obliged the Junta to include this category amongst those permitted to be under the same roof over Christmas.

“From the 23rd of December until the 6th of January (inclusive) people will be permitted to leave and enter Andalucia for trips to the official places of residence of relatives or close family friends in order to spend family get togethers on the aforementioned days,” reads the information published Friday evening in the Boletín Oficial de la Junta de Andalucía (BOJA).

So, friends and family at Christmas, even if you or they have to cross the borders of Andalucía in order to pass the day with you.

Remember, unless your guests (or you if you are the guest) must leave in time to be home by 01.30h, which is when the curfew comes into effect until the next morning. There is nothing to stop you staying over night, of course.

It should also be remembered that the authorities “recommend” that there are only two family groups present, but this is not obligatory.
