The Chairman of the Andrés Segovia Classical Guitar Competition, Diego Martínez Martínez, died towards the end of November.

Consequently, Almuñécar Town Hall and the First Councillor of La Herradura have expressed their condolences to the family of the deceased.

“From the Town Hall we wish to convey our most sincere condolences to the family and friends, as well as to the ‘family’ of the guitar competition, for such a painful loss,” expressed the First Councillor, Juan José Ruiz Joya, upon hearing the news.

He added that Diego Martínez was “one of the best cultural managers from these parts,” adding, Rest in Peace.
