No News on Mass Screening

GRA PCR TestingDespite the Junta announcing yesterday that mass screening would start in Almuñécar and Motril that same day or today, Town Halls have received no further instructions.

Neither have Guadix or Baza, the two other municipalities in the province selected, received more information from the Minister for Public Health, Jesús Aguirre.

In other words, these Town Halls remain in the dark as far as where and when the testing will be carried out or who will be called.

In preparation both Motril and Almuñecar have offered public buildings for the testing to take place but they have not heard back from the Minister.

When the Junta does get round to letting people know what is happening, we shall publish it here immediately.

Christine: No, there is no news, as the article says. Having said that, it won’t matter if you’re a resident and not a citizen, I imagine because it is about finding out how many people are infected within the municipality

Is there any word of how testees will be selected? We are legal residents of Spain, but not citizens. Will that make a difference? We are in the upper age bracket for what it’s worth!
