Motril Town Hall is going to set aside 400,000 euros in direct aid for autónomos who have had to close their businesses under the present restrictions.

This means that the budget has to be adjusted for this unforeseen, extra expense, pointed out the Councillor for Hacienda, (see photo) at a meeting with the Head of the Motril Chamber of Commerce and Head of the local shopkeepers & traders association.

A technical committee will decide on how this money, (anything up to 1,000 euros per autónomo) will be distributed. In order to receive it, an autónomo has to show that his or her epígrafe is one of those that has to close.

An epígrafe (epigraph) is the category under which your work activity comes. If you are an electrician, for example you would have Epígrafe 504.1. Under this one you would not receive aid as your profession is considered essential so you can work.

When the scheme is up and running you will have seven working days to request the aid. After that the committee will decide if you are to receive aid and how much.
