Do you remember the article that we recently ran about a bus catching fire on the A-7 where it passes through Sorbas? There have been developments.
Two of the passengers on the bus were arrested after the luggage was brought out before it was destroyed by the flames – in some of the bags there were 44kg of hashish and 22kg of marihuana.
The said luggage belonged to a 58-year-old man and a 31-year-old one. Both men were charged with possession with intent to supply.
The long-distance coach towing a luggage trailer had six people on board; three drivers and three passengers, none of whom were injured. The police carried out a quick inspection of the bus to see where and how the fire had started; had there been, for instance, something that caused the fire within the luggage.
When they came across six bags containing the drugs, originally all of the occupants on the bus were arrested and taken in for questioning, but four were later released without charges.
