Underwater Medical Staff

LHR Boychi Open WaterIntrigued? Well, it’s about our hard-pressed doctors, nurses and other hospital staff needing a complete break, and what better way than diving?

Perhaps I should explained. I popped along to see Marcos a.k.a. Boychi, at La Herradura’s diving centre, Open Water. I had previous done an online article on how the sector had fared during the summer so I it had gone for him, personally.

It came out that they had had lots of hospital staff from Málaga and Madrid, as well as from Motril’s Santa Ana, who wanted to have a complete break. Many had never done it before and there were so many of them that Boychi had organised separate courses for them.

You can imagine that working in a hospital where the very air you breathe is hostile and then submerging yourself in a completely different element – universe, even – where you are weightless and breathing sets you free to explore…

Perhaps the health authorities should consider funding this activity as therapeutic recreation for its hospital and medical-centre staff?
