The high-speed-train link between Granada and Barcelona is set to recommence after having been stopped during the Lockdown.
However, there will only be one train in either direction per day for the moment, whereas before there were two.
According to Renfe, the AVE Granada-Barcelona service will come back online soon but has not given a firm date. It is unlikely that the service will start before the 20th of this month and the tickets for this connection are not on the Renfe website. It does seem, however, that staff are engaged in its administrative preparation indicating that the 4th of October could be the start date.
Until now, Renfe using AVANT trains between Granada and Barcelona requiring a double ticket, provided: Granada: 07:10h arriving Córdoba 08.36h (1h26m), change, Córdoba 09.43h, Barcelona Sants 14.25h (4h42m), costing 166,80 euros. That is an example of the service, there are other times and, of course, the reverse route.
To get back to the level of services operating out of Granada Renfe would have to reestablish the two AVE trains daily between Granada and Madrid, two AVANT services with Córdoba and Sevilla and two between Granada and Almería.
Note: AVANT trains are high-speed ones operating within the same region or between two adjacent ones, serving as a complementary service for longer-distance AVE trains.
