Premises Rent Pardoned

ALM Los Bajos terraces AG20 OnLAlmuñécar Town Hall has decided help out the local hostelry sector by waivering the premises rent for the period during the Lockdown.

This measure affects businesses premises that are publicly owned, such as those under the Paseo del Altillo, for example.

This decision was reached after a series of in-house meetings between municipal clerks and the Councillor for Hacienda, Rafael Caballero, to work out how much it would cost the public coffers to forgo the said rent.

“This measure would mean a loss of 100,000 euros for the Town Hall, but which will remain in the pockets of local business owners, which can be used in turn to cover other expenses.

This move joins other initiatives to alleviate the economic situation of the hostelry sector, such as the exemption of payment for the occupation of public space by bar/restaurant terraces.
