AND Cooling off in Public FountainWhilst Sevilla and Córdoba are set for a roaster of a day, the Agencia Estatal de Meteorología (Aemet) has also warned that Granada will have high temperatures.

Aemet passed on the warning to Emergencias 112 Andalucía emphasising that between 12.00h and 20.00h temperatures could reach 40ºC in the Sarten de Guadalquivir (the Guadalquivir valley frying pan).

The following areas are on Yellow Alert: Sevilla (Sierra Norte & Sierra Sur); Cádiz (Campiña); Córdoba (Subbética cordobesa, Sierra & Pedroches); Málaga (Atenquera); Jaén (Morena & Condado, Cazorla & Segura, Capital & Montes); Granada (Guadix & Baza) and Huelva (Andévalo, Condado & coast). During the same time period of the day temperatures will reach 38ºC.

Temperatures this coming weekend, however are looking to include an 11ºC drop to a more civilised temperature, both daytime and night time.

As for what to expect today on the Costa Tropical, Motril will have a high of 30ºC and a nigh-time low of 23ºC , Almuñécar, a high of 27ºC  and a nigh-time low of 24ºC , Salobreña, a high of 30ºC and a nigh-time low of 23ºC , also, La Herradura a high of 27ºC  and a nigh-time low of 25ºC (that’s only a two degree difference between the hottest and coldest hours of the day). Calahonda and Albuñol will vary between 30ºC and 23ºC during the day, too.

Friday will be hotter – just saying! Oh, and London… 21ºC high and 14ºC low… raining from 14.00h on – we could do with that damned rain here!
