Mask Fines over Last Weekend

LHR Beach from Western End JL20The town halls along the western end of Costa Tropical, have released their figures for fines over last weekend concerning mask use.

A total of 24 fines for not wearing a mask or wearing one improperly were issued between the townships of Motril and Almuñécar, with the former issuing the majority (16). However, not all of which were issued on its beaches but also in town. Almuñécar, therefore, accounted for eight fines.

Salobreña on the other hand didn’t issue any.

All three town halls have stated that the ‘gloves are now off’ so that there will be no more warnings, as since the obligatory use of masks came into force last Wednesday, there has been more than enough time to get used to the idea.

The police along the coast have also been busy removing unoccupied beach equipment that had been left to reserve a spot; this practice has not been permitted for quite a few years, but more so now when beach occupancy is controlled. Some towns make allowances if you are eating nearby at a chiringuito but if you are going home for lunch, take your stuff with you if you don’t want to lose it.
