There was an earth tremor yesterday morning that was felt in Motril, Torrenueva, Lújar and Polopos, judging by the calls received at the INS.

The Instituto Geográfico Nacional registered a 3.0 tremor on the richter scale at 07.15h yesterday morning. The epicentre was 39 kilometres south of Gualchos, out to sea around ten kilometres down.

In fact there were two more earth tremors in the same area that same morning; one at 04.27h registering 2.0 in intensity and then at 07.43h registering 2.1.
