There was such an mount of household items dumped in a square within the residential area of Motril Port (Varadero) that a JCB was needed to remove it.
The Town Hall had already announced that it was going to have to hire externally somebody to take care of this growing problem and are presently looking for a suitable company.
The Mayor, Luisa García Chamorro, is far from being a happy bunny about having to send heavy machinery to remove rubbish left by somebody who had obviously decided to change all of their furniture.
“Last Sunday morning, in plain daylight, somebody decided to clear their home out and dump it all on the Plaza Rederos, requiring a JCB and several lorries to clear up the square,” she said, adding, “I don’t believe the residents of Varadero deserve this.”
