Salobreña Town Hall intends to adopt the parking arrangement along Avenida del Mediterráneo to the beach return road, providing more summer parking.

This will affect the whole of Avenida de Andalucía, from its beginning on the Avenida del Mediterráneo roundabout to the Bridge over the Río Guadalfeo.

However, Mayor Rufino does not believe that they will have time to bring this change about for this summer, as all of the road-surface markings will have to be changed and some of the central island hedges removed  where they get in the way.

Quite apart from this nascent idea, there will be more parking in the area near the Parque de la Libertad (behind the Town Hall, more or less) , which she considers, will alleviate the parking deficiencies.

She said that they had considered underground car parks but in the end ruled it out for economic reasons but above all because of the watertable, which is close to the surface.
