Timetable Exempt Municipalities

GRA Map of ProvineIf you live in any of these 133 village-size municipalities you are not restricted by the timetable laid down yesterday.

We quote from the BoE (State Gazette), which was published today:

“Article 5/2. Las franjas horarias previstas en este artículo no serán de aplicación a aquellos municipios y entes de ámbito territorial inferior al municipio que administren núcleos de población separados con una población igual o inferior a 5.000 habitantes, en los que la práctica de las actividades permitidas por esta orden se podrá llevar a cabo entre las 6:00 horas y las 23:00 horas.”

In other words, what has appeared to have changed since yesterday is that La Herradura and Lobres, for example, both dependencies of larger towns, will be included as “outside” the timetable, it seems.

We have since left a message for the Almuñécar Councillor for Citizen Safety requesting confirmation that La Herradura is a timetable free entity.

Note: the Councillor has just confirmed that La Herradura has a population of 5,133, therefore even as a dependency, it does not qualify as a 5,000- exemption.

  1. Martin says:

That is the official figure based on the Empadronamientos, but as there are foreigners living there that have not put their names down on the register, despite living there full time, there are quite a few more people living their than 5,133. The Government has to use some sort of basis and the Empadronados is the official register. The list also includes names of people who have moved back to their home country and have not bothered to notify the Town Hall, so it goes both ways.

  2. Chris says:

Does La Herradura have 5133 100% continuously permanent residents or maybe not?

  3. Martin says:

The Government is dealing with 8,000 municipalities, many with dependencies… and this is just the beginning.

Even though there has to be a line, they will be fine tweaking it – give them a chance 😉

  4. Paul says:

la Herradura decision makes no sense. what about population density or numbers of people per square meter or Kilometer? a great diservice to our police who must patrol such a large area
