The Guardia Civil had probably thought they had seen and heard it all during the Lock Down but they were wrong when they stopped a car in Almería.
A patrol car happened to pass by just as somebody was getting into the boot of car in Almería. A woman obligingly closed the boot on the unusual passenger and got in to drive, which was when the officers went over to find out what they were up to.
They turned out to be a mother and her adult son, with a penchant for boot tourism. Before the Guardia Civil interrupted their travel plans, they had intended to proceed to Huércal just under 3kms away.
When asked what they thought they were doing the mother explained that they had just gone to open a bank account and worried about two travelling in the same car, they thought that a non-visible passenger would allow them to get home without being stopped.
Wrong!
Well they both got shopped for disobeying the limitations imposed by the Decreto Real that ushered in the Lock Down, which translates into a tidy fine… to boot. (Damn, that one even made me cringe!)
