The new, Alhambra webpage has attracted too many visitors in too short a period of time, which has made it crash.
The old web page used to get around 21,000 hits in 24 hours, whereas when the new one went online it attracted roughly the same number in only 20 minutes.
Since then the Alhambra Tourist Board has been working to get it back online again but there have been other problems, too, concerning the ticket-purchase steps, which have left some ticket holders without ‘identifiers’ on them.
The web page sold 27,000 tickets in just 24 hours but the set up is just not designed to handle that sort of rate. The company that designed the web page wants the Board to permit them to change the requirements, shortening how far in advance you can buy tickets, reducing it to just one month instead of a whole year.
Anyway, it should be up and running again soon, those in charge hope.
