Erratic Driver Not Drunk

SPN Driver attacked by BeesA Seprona patrol (Guardia Civil Environmental Branch) noticed a car weaving erratically on the CA-272 near La Puente de Valle (Cantabria).

The driver pulled over and stopped rapidly when he saw the patrol car. The policeman saw that the man was having breathing difficulties and showed what looked like signs of inebriation.

In fact, the 45-year-old driver had been attacked by a swarm of bees whilst working with his own beehives. The massive amount of stings was causing him extreme pain and pushing him close to blacking out; hence his erratic driving.

The police rushed him directly to the nearest medical centre where he received antihistaminic (anti-allergy) treatment.

Fortunately, after about an hour, he had recovered sufficiently to be allowed to go home.
