This article concerns a murder that rocked La Herradura on the 20 de mayo de 1998, when Daniel Barbero was shot in his car on the beach road in the early hours.

Eleven years later, the murderer was tracked down to Venezuela, extradited, tried and sentenced to ten years imprisonment.
