In the early hours of yesterday a car rammed the Salobreña sign on the access roundabout, ending up perched on top surrounded by scattered and broken letters.
The accident took place around five in the morning and it didn’t take long for the Policía Local to hurtle round there and see that the ‘Salobreña’ centrepiece was missing the B.R.E.Ñ letters and that the driver was unhurt.
The car had come off the N-340 and taken the roundabout at a rather optimistic speed, or better said, gone straight over it turning the roundabout centre piece into a crazy scrabble board.
The Mayor sought to reassure the townsfolk that the driver actually had a valid car insurance, which would be covering the cost of putting it back together again.
