A biker was killed in a road accident this afternoon on the N-340 where it passes through La Caleta in Salobreña.
The accident, which occurred on the tight bend coming down into La Caleta from the Almuñécar direction, was reported to the 112 number at 13.25h.
Apparently, the biker hit a road sign after leaving the carriageway on this dangerous stretch of the N-340. This sharp bend comes after a straight downhill section of the road. It is particularly dangerous for bikers.
The Guardia Civil report confirmed the death of the motorbike rider, but gave no other details as to age or nationality.
Not far up from where the accident occurred there is a roadside cross in memory of another biker who lost his life there.
