A young man was seriously injured when he fell several floors onto an interior patio within a block of flats in Gualchos.
The 25-year-old man was drunk when he attempted to climb up to his friend’s 3rd-floor flat on Calle La Noria.
It was a neighbour on that floor who phoned the emergency 112 number around 00.30h Sunday morning after hearing groaning and moaning coming from the interior patio below. The victim couldn’t move, but he could cry for help.
Before long an ambulance and the Guardia Civil had turned up to rescue him. Examining him they found that he had several fractures in his extremities. They patched him up sufficiently, immobilising his fractures, in order to get him into the ambulance and take him to Hospital Santa Ana in Motril.
