So popular has been the 40 Years of Farming Expo in Motril that the oranisers have decided to extend its duration until the 19th of January.

The 22nd was going to be the last day but over a thousand people have already passed through its doors.

The exhibition is divided into 25 information boards covering the evolution in farming on the Costa Tropical from the days of sugar-cane agriculture to the present day of intensive farming under plastic.

Photos? Lots of them, all donated by farmers, covering the years over these four long decades and showing the people and the changes in landscape.

But there’s more because there you can learn how they carry out fruit auctions and see how they use RGB cameras to spot imperfections in the fruit.

In fact, besides the expo within the exhibition hall in the old sugar factory, there is also a green house beside the building where you can see how hydroponic farming under plastic is done.

So where is it and when can you visit it? The exibition runs from Tuesday to Friday, from 17.00h to 21.00h and Saturdays from 18.00h to 22.00h at the Fábrica del Azúcar in Motril.
