The Guardia Civil arrested a young man from Salobreña, suspected of stealing 6,000 kilos of almonds and 650 avocados in Jete.
The police explained that the suspect stands accused of similar thefts in Motril and Salobreña. In fact, they had received several complaints from cortijo owners in these municipalities, where a motorbike and several electric tools, as well as crops had been stolen.
After identifying a vehicle that could have been used in the thefts, the police began patrolling the arable land in these townships and finally caught up with the 26-year-old man, owner of the said vehicle.
Upon searching his home they found two motorbikes and the beforementioned tools.
