There has been another body discovered, floating off the Costa Tropical, the third in one week, coming after the La Herradura and Motril ones.

This third body was discovered off La Rabita (Albuñol) beach at 10.20h Thursday – the emergency number 112 received a call to say that there was a body floating about 30 metres off shore.

Immediately, the Guardia Civil, Salvamento Marítimo and Policía Local were alerted and despatched.

Neither the sex nor approximate age of the victim has been made known, but according to the Guardia Civil, the body had been wearing a high-viz jacket or life jacket, which leads them to suspect that the body is also that of an immigrant.

At the beginning of the month, 22 illegal immigrants were arrested after being stopped by the Guardia Civil at a spot-check on the N-340 within the municipality of Albuñol. They had been travelling east in four different cars.
