Before the year is out Almuñécar will have a new morgue/funeral parlour; they’re converting an old fruit-clearing warehouse, right next to the cemetery.
The private company behind the installations is a funeral company called, Zumaquero y Martínez, who are expanding in the area; this will be their third: Salobreña, Motril and now Almuñécar.
The building company that is going knock the thing together is El Partal SAU, whose first task is to take down the fruit warehouse.
This new morgue has a budget of nearly a million euros and will have three parlours, a chapel, toilets and offices, which together with the parking area occupy a plot of 600 sq/m.
