A total of 107 immigrants from sub-Saharan Africa were rescued on Tuesday the 6th aboard three separate boats and brought into Motril.
The first craft located by the Salvamento Marítimo (Guardia Civil) had 32 persons aboard: 23 men, six women and three children. They were found 13 nautical miles to the southeast of the Isla de Alborán after being spotted by a maritime rescue aircraft Sasemar 101.
Then, seven nautical miles from this first craft, the second one was intercepted with 31 people aboard: 29 men and two women.
The Guardia Civil rescue launch used to bring the immigrants into Motril Port in both cases was Guardamar Polimnia.
The third craft was spotted 22 nautical miles to the northeast of Isla Alborán with 44 people aboard: 42 men and two women. Owing to their position they were to be taken into Almería Port but finally they were also landed at Motril Port.
Despite the high temperatures experienced out at sea this last week, all the passengers are in good health.
There have been a total of six craft located off the Costa Tropical and brought in since Saturday the 3rd with 203 passengers in all.
