One of the opposition parties in Salobreña, the PA, pointed out that pedestrians will have a hard time walking to the bus station without crossing busy junctions.

The bus stop (a temporary structure until the station is built) is situated on the other side of the N-340, next to the Los Trances sports grounds. To get there on foot you will have to go through the tunnel under the N-340, crossing two busy junction to reach it. Therein lies the problem.

The PA consider that the governing party has suffered a lack of foresight when beginning this project – construction is already underway.

Editorial comment: considering that the present administration’s idea is to build a bus stop where the bus station is going to be, the ‘foresight’ in question is not theirs, but whoever decided to put the long-awaited bus station on that side of the main road in the first place. Furthermore, the municipal bus will no doubt connect the centre and beach area of town with the bus station.
