You can tell that summer is only just around the corner; roadworks always begin on the N-340, the main coastal road, causing tailbacks. Doing it at any other time during the year is apparently not enough fun.

The stretch of road affected is that between Almuñécar and Salobreña; specifically, between Taramay and the Urb. Alfa Mar.

Yes, the Ministerio de Fomento has decided that those 15 kilometres are in desperate need of resurfacing – we hadn’t noticed that it was, but there you go.

Sarcasm aside, the company charged with the task, Ecofalt, is applying what is known as microaglomerado; a special layer that seals cracks and supposedly give better adhesion for tyres.

After the magical micraglomerado is laid, the surface signage (white lines and arrows, etc) will be redone.
