Fitur, probably one of the most important international tourist fairs in the world, opened today in Madrid, with representation from the Costa Tropical.
The Mayor of Almuñécar, Trinidad Herrera, took the opportunity whilst visiting our stand to announce the creation of the private clinic, Clinica Rincón. At her side was the owner, Manuel Rincón.
The clinic will be situated in the Urbanización Jardines de Mariote, which is at the far end of Playa San Cristóbal. According to Sr. Rincón, if all goes to plan, it could be finished by the end of this year.
The Mayor emphasized the new installations’ importance within the ‘health tourism sector,’ which she said was in constant growth. In other words, people will come to Almuñécar for its enviable climate and to receive medical treatment.
In fact, according to the figures offered by the Mayor, this sector moves 500m euros per year and is growing at a rate of 20%.
Editorial comment: I seem to remember that the Clinica de Radiologia that opened at the beach end of Avenida de Juan Carlos I was a ‘top notch, cutting edge’ clinic and was going to make Almuñécar the epicentre of medical diagnosis. Don’t bother looking, it went under a year or so back.
