Tall Ship Photography Competition

MOT tall ship photo competitionThe Motril Port Authority has set up a new photographic competition to coincide with the arrival of three tall ships this month.

The majestic sailing ships, belonging to Star Clippers Mónaco are: Star Flyer, Royal Clipper and Star Clipper arriving on the 15th, 29th and 30th of October.

This is the first time in the ten years that Motril Port has been an independent entity – before it was a satellite port of Almería – that the three tall ships have coincided in the same month.

The basis for the competition, which was drawn up by the Asociación de Fotógrafos de la Costa Tropical (AFOCOST), can only be connected to the scheduled visits and that the port itself must also appear; i.e., you want the port and the clipper in the same shot. It doesn’t have to be the whole port, but at least a portion that is recognizable as belonging to Motril Port.

Each participant can enter a maximum of three works, in digital format, with a minimum resolution of 2,000 pixels per square inch on its longest side.

Send your entries to comunicación@apmotril.com. All entries must be in by midnight on the 30th of October.

The shots can be taken from outside the port or within in it where public entry is permitted (these areas are accessible from 12.00h to 17.00h).

First Prize will be 200 euros in cash, Second Prize is a ticket for two on the Melilla ferry and Third Prize is a dinner at the Restaurante Trasmallo del Club Náutico. All participants will receive a diploma.

The Star Flyer is the first to arrive, docking at eleven in the morning on Thursday the 15th on Muelle Costa. That’s tomorrow so get you photographic kit out!
