The Nerja Town Hall has signed an accord with Sociedad Azucarera Larios S. L. which could lead to the building of a golf course in Maro.
The Town Hall, for its part, will have to reclassify land belong to the company next to the old sugar factory San Joaquín de Maro, which is in Las Mercedes area.
The PGOU (General Urban Development Plan) will have to be ‘adjusted’ so that Maro Golf can become a reality, which will also include a building-land denomination for La Fábrica area. This will have to be approved by the Junta de Andalucia.
In exchange for this, the Town Hall will receive plot number AA-40 on Calle San Isidro (the old sugar factory), which will have a new Guardia Civil post build on it (next to the roundabout for access to the autovía).
Anyway, we shall no doubt hear more about this, because between the ink drying on the agreement signatures and the project getting approval from the Junta is a long, long time, so don’t bother getting your clubs out just yet.
