Avenida de Andalucia Dug Up in Places

ALM AvAndalucia potholes 01 OnLThe Local business and services association for Almuñécar & La Herradura (AECSALH) is not happy; Avenida de Andalucía is being dug up again.

It would appear that not even a month after the said avenue being reopened to traffic with its nice new surface, parts are being dug up by Teléfonica to lay their cables.

The Chairman of AECSALH, Jesús Ruiz Cobos, considers this situation as “intolerable” because taxpayers will have to pay for the affected pavement to be resurfaced so soon after the original work was finished.

ALM AvAndalucia potholes 02 OnL“It is intolerable that Town Hall engineers and the Heads of the construction company did not coordinate the work with Teléfonica,” he complained. He also pointed out that outside companies had been used for work about town and not local companies, as is the case with the new fire station under construction.

Sr. Ruiz Cobos finished by expressing their indignation over the fact that despite reiterated requests for a meeting with the Mayor, no appointment has been forthcoming.
