The now-open Aquarium in Almuñécar received over one thousand visitors during its first weekend reopened.
Chance would have it that the 1000th visitor belonged to a family from Sevilla; one that was originally from Almuñécar.
Obviously, the Councillor for the Environment, Luis Aragón, who is responsible for aquarium and the mountain park, Peña Escrita, is a happy bunny because the publicity campaign appears to have worked.
He had words of gratitude for the media (press/radio), as well as the hostelry sector for helping to “pass the word.” That’s all very nice, Luis, but you will have to stand us at least a round of drinks!
“As well as the 20 separate fish tanks and the impressive 1-million-litre, main tank with the visitors tunnel that runs through it, there is a permanent photo display of seabed scenes off Almuñécar and La Herradura,” explained Councillor Aragón, adding that there are a thousand specimens of 125 different species.
You can visit the Aquarium during July and August, Monday to Sunday from 10.00h to 14.00h ad 17.00h to 22.00h. More info: 958 882735 or 615 321462
