Salobreña will be putting on an array of art exhibitions, lectures and a great musical act the first week of August.
The XXIII Festival Nuevas Tendencias – yes it’s been taking place each summer for the last 23 years – has the 80’s UK band, Matt Bianco on the 8th of August, at 22.30h. The venue is the Sports Stadium and the entrance fee is 15 euros for adults or 20 at the door.
For those of you who don’t remember, Matt Bianco is a UK band that was formed in 1983. Their style was and is jazz-Latin, flavoured music.
Popular during the mid-1980s in continental Europe, Matt Bianco was part of the new jazz pop genre, that they shared with acts such as Working Week, Sade, Everything but the Girl, and The Style Council.
The name suggests that Matt Bianco is a person, often assumed to be an alias for the main constant member and frontman, Mark Reilly.
