If it had not been for a call from Almería, a Motril man would have lost his life.

The Policía Nacional in Motril received a call from a woman in Almería to say that she believed her ex was contemplating suicide… but that she didn’t know where he now lived.

Using all means to hand they managed to locate his home and with the help of  firemen – nobody answered the door – they entered the premises and found him semi-conscious, having swallowed impressive amounts of pills mixed with alcohol.

Thanks to on-the-spot, medical countermeasures, he was safely transferred to the municipal medical centre where he is said to be recovering.
