Driving instructors usually take their lives into their own hands whilst out on the roads, but sometimes danger follows them back to the office.

The secretary was sitting at her desk at a driving school in Barcelona when suddenly a car burst through the main window, shoving her and most of the furniture into the corner of the room. Inside the car sat a 45-year-old man was sitting at the wheel looking both stunned and frightened.

This was at 19.00h on the 1st of April in the Montserratina de Viladecans of the city.

As a result the woman was taken, in a state of shock, to the nearest hospital with an injured leg.

So, was the driver an ex-student who had popped by for a nostalgic visit? Not so, because the driver concerned did not even have a licence. In fact, it wasn’t even his car because he had borrowed it.

It’s still far from clear what had caused him to drive through the window but the most probable explanation is that he mistook the brake for the accelerator.
