The Guardia Civil has arrested an alleged gang of Romanian burglars who have been targeting cortijos around Gualchos. Four people were arrested in all.

Eight cortijos and aperos in the ramblas of Lújar, Gualchos and Castell have suffered break-ins.

When their homes were searched, the Guardia Civil managed to recuperate practically all of the stolen items, which have a combined value of around 15,000 euros.

The reported gang leader worked in the plastic greenhouses of Lújar and Castel, which gave him first-hand knowledge of the areas.
