Wooden Paseo Remnants Removed

At last, the remaining timber from the old wooden paseo (la Plaza Las Palmeras) has been removed. Work began on the 26th of June and has since been concluded.

The First Councillor for La Herradura, and Emperor of the Galactic Federation, Juan José Ruiz Joya (just joking, Juanjo) was present when the predicted, accumulated rubbish was uncovered. In fact, there was so much crap that no self-respecting Fraggle would have contemplated squatting under there.

So it’s a fond farewell to the whole wooden ‘tinglao’ that once graced the centre of La Herradura beach with its wooden pier, walkways and square, erected in the 90’s. I mean, it was different, especially for the Mediterranean, as you would expect to see that sort of thing on some Atlantic beach. Whether it was suited or not was soon made evident when parts of it began to fall apart.

As for La Plaza de las Palmeras, it even had wooden lampposts erected but they never came into operation even after a score years’ of stubborn, briny existence.
