The First Councillor for Carchuna-Calahonda, Concepción Abarca, has been happily observing three new signposts, sporting a total of 16 individual signs.
You will no longer be in any doubt how to reach La Chucha and La Perla beaches. Yes, both Carchuna and Calahonda are equipped with these signs, some of which have mini maps of the towns underneath.
Interestingly, this arrangement had a budget of 3,000 euros… Hmmm, you pay me 3,000 euros and I’ll camp on the first roundabout for the summer and point to where the beaches are – no sweat.
Anyway, next time that you’re sitting in a traffic jam as you try to get through the bottlenecks that occur each summer on this stretch of the N-340, you can contemplate these new signs and consider aborting your planned trip and turn off for one of the beaches – beats sitting in your car for an hour, crawling along at ten kph, no?
